Sharon Fellowship Church UK & Ireland began in 2006 in Wolverhampton under the leadership of Pr. James Samuel. From a single beginning, it has grown into a nationwide fellowship of churches serving communities across the UK and Ireland.

The churches continues to host annual conferences in different cities across the UK and Ireland, gathering believers for worship, teaching, and fellowship. Its ministries remain active through Sunday School, the Christian Evangelical Movement (CEM) youth ministry, Ladies’ Ministry, and a growing emphasis on charitable and social outreach.

Today, the work is carried forward under the oversight of Pr. Samkutty Pappachen as President, together with the wider leadership team, with a focus on discipleship, service, and mission.

Our Roots

Sharon Fellowship Church was originally founded by Rev. P.J. Thomas in Kerala, India in the early 1950s. While teaching Comparative Religion at Wheaton College, he sensed God’s call to return to India and dedicate his life to ministry. After settling in Thiruvalla, Kerala, he purchased the property that later became the Sharon compound, planting the seeds of a movement that would shape generations.

Together with Aleyamma Thomas, he helped build a Christ-centered ministry marked by prayer, discipleship, and faithful service. Their legacy continues to inspire the wider Sharon Fellowship family, including the growth of Sharon Fellowship Church UK and Ireland, where that same spirit of mission and fellowship remains alive today.
